Married At First Sight star Andrew Jury dies at the age of 33

New Zealand star of “Married at First Sight,” Andrew Jury, has died at the age of 33.

Jury, one of the original grooms from the first New Zealand season, competed in the show which aired in 2017.

His death was announced via an Instagram post. Warner Bros. Discovery added in a statement that it was taking his duty of care “extremely seriously.”

“Warner Bros. Discovery extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Andrew Jury,” WBD said in a statement (via New Zealand Herald).

“WBD takes duty of care extremely seriously and has protocols in place for the wellbeing of cast and crew. All MAFS NZ contributors have access to mental health professionals throughout the process, including pre-screening, during production and post-air.”

The cast of the first season, including Brett and Angel Renall and Benjamin Blackwell, remembered Jury in an Instagram post, the New Zealand Herald reports.

“It is with heavy hearts that we come together to acknowledge the passing of Andrew Jury,” the post said.

“We had the absolute pleasure of being part of and filming a show that will keep us connected for life.

“Despite his difficulties, Andrew was always friendly and the life of the party during our experience together, and he truly appreciated his time on the show.

“At this time, our entire cast would like to extend our deepest condolences and love to his family – Ben, Angel, Brett, Vicky, Haydn, Lacey, Claire, Dom, Aaron, Luke, Belinda.”

Married at First Sight UK airs on E4 in the UK. Married at First Sight Australia airs on Nine Network in Australia and E4 in the UK.
