Instagram has introduced a new feature that allows users to add music to their profile bios. Previously, users could only include music in posts. Starting today, users can now select a 30-second song from Instagram’s music library to feature on their profile. However, the song will not play automatically; users will have to click on it to listen to it.

Steps to add music to your profile:

1. Go to the Edit Profile page.

2. Find and select a song from Instagram’s licensed music library.

3. Select a 30-second segment to display on your profile.

Instagram adds a new category called “Taste” to the bios where the song will be displayed. The selected song will remain on the profile until the user decides to remove or replace it.

Instagram is promoting this new feature with the help of Sabrina Carpenter, known for her song “Espresso.” To build anticipation for the release of her upcoming album, Carpenter’s profile will show a preview of a new track, allowing fans to hear the unreleased music before its official release.

Update on Instagram notes:

In addition to the music feature, Instagram has updated its notes feature with new color options. Certain phrases like “low key,” “cute,” “considerate,” and “attentive” trigger a color shift that results in a pink hue. However, due to low saturation and varying screen qualities, this color often appears more off-white.

Previously, Instagram had a gold notes feature that was removed. Users can no longer use certain keywords to create gold-colored notes. The new pink color option replaces the no longer available gold notes and offers a fresh visual update to the notes feature.
