Speculating about the rumors surrounding pro wrestling is a favorite pastime for many fans, perhaps second only to actually watching the matches. In this daily column, we take a look at the latest rumors spawned by the pro wrestling rumor mill.

Important note: Rumors are just that – rumors. None of this has been confirmed as fact, it’s just circulating in the pro wrestling rumor mill. We track the accuracy of rumors in a weekly feature called “Rumor Look Back,” which you can find here. Remember to take everything with a grain of salt.

Rumors of the day:

  • Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline believes AEW booked the main event title vs. career match at All In this Sunday at Wembley Stadium because Tony Khan “would like to have the name Danielson on his AEW world title roster.”

  • Meltzer cites October 12 as a possible date for Bryan’s final fight as a full-time wrestler, which is the date of AEW’s WrestleDream pay-per-view in his home state of Washington.
  • On the Keepin’ It 100 podcast, Konnan dismissed the rumor Disco Inferno heard that House of Black was an “annoying slob” behind the scenes at AEW. Konnan believes the group is “like everyone else on this list wondering why (AEW) doesn’t do more with me.” Konnan says many wrestlers in the company now think something like this: “I don’t even ask questions. I don’t care anymore. Just pay me.”
  • The Wrestling Observer Newsletter points out that Giulia is finished in Japan and will start working for WWE “very soon”.
  • WON also claims that WWE’s decision to book a holiday tour house show on the same day and in the same city as AEW’s Worlds End pay-per-view was “essentially just bragging rights and nothing more.”
