Pink sings “What About Us” with her daughter Willow Sage at the DNC

The video for the 2017 song “Pink” contained anti-Trump messages months after his election.

Pink skipped the She forwent the acrobatics of her usual show and instead delivered a soulful performance of her song “What About Us” at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago on Thursday night. The singer was accompanied by her daughter Willow Sage, who sang the song as a duet with the singer.

Together, Pink, Willow and their backing singers sang the song’s poignant verse: “We are searchlights, we can see in the dark/We are rockets pointed at the stars/We are billions of beautiful hearts/And you sold us too far down the river.” During their performance, a pink light enveloped the thousands of spectators.

Earlier in the day, Pink and Willow were seen rehearsing the Beautiful trauma Single. The 2017 video “What About Us” highlighted communities whose rights were threatened during Trump’s time in office, including immigrants and same-sex couples.

Last month, Pink officially endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris on a Zoom fundraising call that broke a record for the platform and raised nearly $2 million.

“We’re in this together… and I’m just really grateful that we as women have a voice, and we’ve always made sure our voices are heard, and now it’s time to just get extra loud,” the singer said during the call via The Wrap“Let’s go. Let’s get loud.”

In 2020, Pink showed her support for President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris when she appeared at the virtual “I Will Vote” event. Pink has a history of supporting LGBTQ and reproductive rights, social issues that Harris also championed.
