Channing Tatum says it will be “horrifying” for his daughter to watch “Magic Mike”

Channing Tatum knows it is coming – the day when his 11-year-old daughter Everly will finally Magic Mike films and sees his real dance moves. He is not looking forward to it.

“I’m so grateful that she doesn’t know how I dance,” Tatum told host Seth Meyers on Wednesday’s episode of Late at night. “It will be terrible if (she) does it.”

Tatum, 44, is a former stripper, and his story inspired 2012 Magic Mikethe Steven Soderbergh-directed film about male exotic dancers, as well as its sequels, Magic Mike XXL And Magic Mike’s Last Dance.

The actor also explained that he does more child-like moves when he’s with his daughter, whom he has with ex-wife Jenna Dewan. He moves his arms back and forth more and flexes less of his abs, which he shows off in the movies.

He chose the more conservative dance for his trip with his daughter to Taylor Swift’s Eras tour in Los Angeles. (He saw the same show again in London with his fiancée Zoë Kravitz.)

Tatum joked that when he stayed clean, he “danced like I’d never danced before.”

Last year, Tatum said ET that he planned to tell his daughter about his past at some point.

“When she’s old enough to watch (the movies), we’ll talk about it,” he said. “There’s no way I won’t have the conversation: ‘Dad didn’t just do her in movies, I was a real stripper, too,’ so I’m not going to lie to her.”

Tatum’s latest film is the thriller Flash twicewhich hits theaters on Friday.
