14-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy charged with alleged conspiracy to murder the girl’s mother

(WXYZ) — A 14-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy have been charged with allegedly attempting to kill the girl’s mother.

According to the Macomb County District Attorney’s Office, the 17-year-old boy entered the victim’s home on July 24 and strangled him before being confronted and fleeing the home.

After an investigation by Eastpointe Police, it was concluded that the 14-year-old daughter had planned the murder together with the 17-year-old.

The victim survived and is expected to recover.

The 14-year-old girl was charged with incitement to murder (life sentence) and conspiracy to commit premeditated murder (life sentence without parole). The 17-year-old man was charged with conspiracy to commit premeditated murder (life sentence without parole) and assault with intent to murder (life sentence).

Prosecutors said the girl was arraigned on August 14 and given bail of $1 million. She was sent to the juvenile detention center. The 17-year-old was given bail of $2.5 million and also sent to the juvenile detention center.

“The alleged actions of these juveniles are not only illegal, but also incredibly dangerous. This level of criminal activity is unacceptable and we intend to treat it with the severity it deserves. That is why we want to charge these juveniles as adults – because when you commit adult crimes, you face consequences,” Macomb County District Attorney Peter J. Lucido said in a statement.
