How to quickly remove grease from your oven’s glass door without scrubbing or vinegar

Cleaning the oven is one of those mammoth jobs that can seem to take all day. The hardest part is often the glass door.

Your oven door has to endure a lot. The frequent opening and closing, the spilled sauces and accidental touching with oily hands – it is a battlefield for stains and smears.

The inside of the oven door bears the brunt of the wear and tear when baking and roasting. It gets splashed with sauces, covered in grease and often has a mosaic of baked-on food residue.

Instead of using chemical-based oven cleaners or a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda, one cleaning enthusiast recommended using kitchen scraps.

On her Instagram page @tanyahomeinspo, Tanya showed viewers how to clean ovens using orange peels.

She claimed that oven grease could be “easily” removed by mixing water with orange peels.

To do this, put water and orange peel in an ovenproof dish and place in the oven for 20 minutes.

Tanya explained: “The heat and the ingredient will release all the grease from your oven and leave a lovely fresh smell.”

Tanya responded to the comments with “defiant” and even noted that the orange peels can be “reused” multiple times.

@ourforeverhome24 wrote: “I need to buy some oranges to try this out. How do you even come up with these ideas?”

One user asked what temperature the oven should be set to when doing this hack. Tanya replied, “The lowest temperature is fine for 20 minutes as long as it gets hot.”
