Eleven-year-old girl stabbed to death in Leicester Square and granted wish to see Taylor Swift perform | UK news

For an 11-year-old girl who was stabbed to death in London’s Leicester Square, her dream of seeing Taylor Swift perform has come true.

The girl suffered serious injuries when she was attacked in front of her 34-year-old mother in the popular West End tourist destination on the morning of August 12.

A court had previously heard that a man had approached the girl, put her in a headlock and stabbed her eight times.

She was hospitalized for treatment of injuries to her face, shoulder, wrist and neck.

The mother-daughter pair had travelled through Europe to watch the Matildas – Australia’s national women’s football team – at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and had hoped Fast at one of their Shows at Wembley Stadium.

After her ordeal, and with a little help from Australian consular officials, the girl’s dream came true when, after a week of recovery, she was able to see Swift’s record-breaking “Eras Tour.”

The young victim thanked everyone who helped with her recovery – including hospital staff – and said: “It was terrible to meet them in these circumstances, but they are people I will always remember.”

The girl’s mother added that her daughter was “incredible” and ready to “get back to normal.”

“She is the most optimistic child you could imagine, she is totally cheerful,” she said.

Last week, a security officer who helped disarm the suspect was awarded for his bravery by the Pakistani High Commission in London.
