Due to low ticket demand, Burning Man Rush tickets are available for last-minute burners

For the first time in over a decade, Burning Man is not sold out just days before the annual festival in the Black Rock Desert.

Due to last year’s record-breaking thunderstorm that swept away the Playa and rising inflation, ticket sales for Burning Man are at their lowest levels in over a decade.

We reached out to people on Facebook and asked if they were going to the festival this year and why (or why not). Responses included that it didn’t fit in their budget this year.

Burning Man organizers are offering last-minute buyers tickets without pre-registration.

The Melting Pot World Emporium on South Virginia Street in Midtown, which plans to close its doors in the fall, is this year’s ticket sales location for the first time since 2011.

“It’s a real nostalgia and a great feeling for us to have him back after 13 years. We were the ticketing agent for 14 years until we sold out of tickets for the first time in 2011. Especially because this is our last Burning Man that we’ll be hosting here in our storefront. It’s just great to have him back one last time,” said Eric Baron, owner of the Melting Pot World Emporium.

There are almost 100 tickets left at the Melting Pot, which also include a parking pass. Tickets cost about $600 and you can also shop for your wardrobe there.
