Instagram introduces a new feature to add music to your profile

Instagram has announced a new feature that allows users to add a song to their profile that evokes memories of the Myspace days. This update allows users to place a title in their bio section, adding a personal touch to their profiles.

Unlike Myspace, where songs play automatically when someone visits your page, Instagram gives visitors the choice to play or pause the song. To add a song, users can go to the Edit Profile section and select a 30-second clip from Instagram’s music library, which is also used for Reels and Posts.

The feature is being introduced in collaboration with pop star Sabrina Carpenter. Her Instagram profile will preview a new song called “Taste” ahead of her new album’s release on Friday. This on-profile music feature is the only way to hear the song before the album’s release.

In addition, Instagram has added some themed features to Carpenter’s album. Short and sweet. Using keywords like “Sabrina” or a coffee cup emoji in notes turns messages light blue, and there’s a special chat theme with lipstick kiss designs.

This update makes it easy to personalize your Instagram profile while maintaining a nod to the past.
