Eight clubs have now qualified for the 2025 CONCACAF Champions Cup: LAFC and Columbus Crew join the giants of Liga MX

Following the conclusion of the semi-finals of the 2024 Leagues Cup last night, where LAFC And Columbus Crew against Colorado and Philadelphia, the Black & Gold and Crew join the six Liga MX clubs – Chivas, Monterrey, Club America, Cruz Azul, Pumas UNAM and Tigres UANL – as the eight (out of 27) clubs that have secured a place in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.

For next season’s Concacaf Champions Cup, The MLS will be represented by nine teams: three from the Leagues Cup, the winners of the US Open Cup and the four best-placed teams at the end of the season, plus the winner of the MLS Cup.

The 60th edition of the Concacaf Champions Cup is scheduled to take place between February and June 2025 and is the only way for clubs from North America, Central America and the Caribbean to qualify for the expanded 32-club cup. FIFA Club World Cup. Next year Concacaf Champions Cup will continue to be played in a knockout system with five rounds and direct elimination.

The first four rounds: Round 1, Round of 16, Quarter-finals and Semi-finals, all include home and away matches, while the final is played in a single match. Of the 27 participating clubs, 22 start in Round 1, and five receive a bye to the round of 16.

The current Concacaf Champions Cup winner is Mexico Pachuca CF, who defeated Columbus Crew (USA) in June and Club Leon (2023), Seattle Sounders FC (2022) and CF Monterrey (2021) are the four Concacaf representatives at the FIFA Club World Cup next summer.

The remaining participants include teams from: The Canadian Championship (one club): Master 2024 Canadian Premier League (two clubs): Champion and Shield Winner 2024, Concacaf Caribbean Cup (three clubs): 2024 champion, runner-up and third place. Concacaf Central American Cup (six clubs): 2024 champion, runner-up, two losing semifinalists and two play-in winners.
