The 37th America’s Cup will take place after the first races took place off the coast of Barcelona on Thursday and thousands followed the action live from the beaches and fan zones.
Six sailing teams competed on the first day of the Pre-Regatta, a warm-up tournament that lasts until Sunday before the start of the actual regatta next week, which will last until the end of October.
The Defender and the five challengers faced each other for the first time in over three years in Yacht class AC75, These are larger, heavier and faster boats than the previous edition in 2021.
