AJ Allmendinger will be back in the cup for Kaulig in 2025

AJ Allmendinger will return to the NASCAR Cup Series for Kaulig Racing in 2025, it was announced on August 15.

Allmendinger will once again drive the No. 16, the car he raced full-time in 2023 before switching to part-time in 2024.

In 2024, he also drove the No. 16 for Kaulig full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. In 20 races in the series, he has three top-five and ten top-10 finishes.

In his Cup starts, split between the Nos. 16 and 13, he will have three top-10 finishes in 2024. When he drove the No. 16 full-time last year, he scored one win, four top-5 finishes and seven top-10 finishes.

In 2024, the No. 16 was also driven by Shane van Gisbergen, Ty Dillon, Derek Kraus and Josh Williams.

Sponsorship for Allmendinger’s 2025 race has not yet been announced, nor has a replacement for him in the team’s Xfinity Series.

He is the first driver announced for the 2025 Kaulig Cup program, as Daniel Hemric, the driver of the No. 31 in 2024, has not yet confirmed his plans for next year.
