Watford player is considered a “big risk” – “Charge Forward” is supposed to convince Hornets to approve transfer

On Friday, journalist Nil Solà reported that Girona had decided to make a major investment to sign Yaser Asprilla from Watford, who was their priority target.

Thursday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo confirms this view, saying that the winger is the La Liga team’s “big bet” this summer.

Asprilla scored six goals and provided eight assists in 47 games for Watford last season and has attracted interest from various clubs across Europe, including Girona, Leicester City, Stade Rennais and FC Porto.

The French club withdrew its interest due to an excessive agent fee. Leicester and Porto also withdrew their bids, making the Spanish club the favorite from a financial perspective.

Mundo says the Hornets will not make it easy for the Colombian international to leave. He is the priority target for Girona and it remains to be seen if they can reach an agreement with Watford.

AS Girona see the South American as an ideal target to replace Savinho. It will be neither easy nor cheap for them to sign him, with Watford’s demand being “over 20 million” (probably in euros).

Asprilla “welcomes” a move to Girona because he can play in the Champions League there. The La Liga club “will charge forward” to convince Tom Cleverley’s side. They are running out of time and need to make a decisive move soon to secure the attacker’s services.
