RFK Jr.’s support “falls through the floor”

CNN Data Reporter Harry Ducks declared on Thursday that the independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Support is sinking “into the basement” amid reports that he has floated the idea of supporting the vice president Kamala Harris in exchange for a cabinet post.

The Washington Post On Wednesday, it was first reported that Kennedy Jr. had sought a meeting with Harris to discuss a position in her administration. The publisher reported last year that Kennedy Jr. had a similar offer in mind for Donald Trump.

“This is really a bizarre campaign,” said Enten John Berman in response to the latest news about Kennedy Jr.

The reporter noted that the presidential election was the “most boring” of his life before President Joe Biden has called off his re-election campaign. Since then, Enten said, the election has been pure “nonsense.”

Regarding Kennedy Jr., Enten pointed to the latest data from the Pew Research Center as the latest indicator that support for the independent candidate is declining, dropping from 15% in July to 7% currently.

Among former Kennedy Jr. supporters, Enten said, more would switch to Harris than to Trump: 39 percent now support Harris, while Trump comes in at 20 percent. According to the data, Kennedy Jr. retains 39 percent of these voters.

“If you’re down to two-fifths of your support from July, you’re going through the roof, which is what RFK Jr. is doing right now. But the key point here is that Kamala Harris can rally a lot of the disaffected voters who said they would vote third party,” Enten said. “They’re not voting third party anymore. By a two-to-one margin, they’re saying they’re going to vote for Kamala Harris over Donald Trump.”
