A California school principal was placed on leave after apparently performing a dirty dance with the school’s mascot. Now the video is going viral on the Internet.

Sometimes you can show too much enthusiasm at pep meetings. This seems to be an example of that. It’s that time of year when kids and teachers head back to school. For this California school principal, however, it could be an incredibly short school year.

I’ve seen some bad demonstrations in school gyms. There were bad dances, bad performances, and not very exciting speakers. But I’ve never seen anything like this. This might go down as the weirdest pep rally ever after a California school principal apparently dirty danced with the school’s mascot. It looks like it started with the mascot dancing on top of him like a little striptease before he sat the mascot down and took his turn to dance a little.

Accordingly Your Central ValleyA Merced Union High School District principal was seen on video dancing inappropriately with the high school mascot at a back-to-school rally. He has now reportedly been placed on leave for his behavior. The principal was identified as Robert Nunez, principal of Buhach Colony High School, and was placed on leave the following Monday after Friday’s rally, according to Your Central Valley.

Viviana Fuentes, the district’s communications director, says, “This decision is part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all students and staff,” about Your Central Valley. The entire dance took place while Ginuwine’s “Pony” played – which is synonymous with strip clubs and lap dances. During the dance, he even fires some confetti at the mascot, which could have its own interpretations. Before he rolls the mascot out of the gym on a chair, it sounds like he’s saying, “What happens at Buach, stays at Buach!” Oh, no. That’s not going to help him at all. What on earth was he thinking with that quote? You have to understand that nothing stays anywhere these days! There are cameras everywhere – especially where teenagers are. That was a terrible decision.

The investigation is currently underway and other people will step in as assistant principals at Buhach Colony High School. You can watch the latest video for yourself below.

Cort Freeman was born and raised in Metro Detroit. 13 years after graduating, he was named Clarkston High School’s 2009 class clown. That’s totally normal. He owes that to his time as an intern at Comedy Central and as a social media correspondent for The Colbert Report. Cort has done comedy all over the country, both stand-up and sit-down. When he’s not trying to make you laugh on the radio and online, he’s probably at home enjoying his favorite shows like Seinfeld, South Park, and The Office. He’s also completely uncomfortable writing about himself in the third person. Cort enjoys writing about comedy, food, sports, and entertainment. So basically anything and everything.
