Iridium appoints Vincent O’Neill as CFO and Timothy Last as Sales & Marketing EVP; quote by Matt Desch

Iridium Communication (Nasdaq: IRDM) has appointed Chief Financial Officer Vincent O’Neill will be named Chief Financial Officer and Chief Business Development Officer Timothy Last will be named Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing, effective January 1.

The McLean, Virginia-based company announced Wednesday that O’Neill will succeed retiring Thomas Fitzpatrick. who will continue to serve on Iridium’s Board of Directors following his resignation as CFO.

Last will replace Bryan Hartin, who will retire at the end of 2024 after serving as Iridium’s head of sales and marketing for 12 years.

CEO of Iridium Matt Desch said he expects a smooth leadership transition with the addition of O’Neill and Last to the leadership team.

“Both Vince and Tim have extensive experience working with Iridium’s partners, employees and investors and will continue the success of their predecessors,” added Desch, who was awarded the 2024 Wash100 award.

The new CFO is Senior VP of Finance and is responsible for Iridium’s strategic and operational financial planning and execution, as well as treasury. O’Neill, a Chartered Management Accountant, joined the satellite communications company in 2014 as VP of Financial Planning and Analysis.

His industry career has included senior finance positions at Mobilitie, Nextel Sprint and Celnet.

Timothy Last

The 12-year veteran of Iridium currently serves as Senior Vice President of Sales, Product Management and Customer Support, overseeing the company’s global customer integration, product portfolio and commercial sales support in the Americas.

Most recently, he served as Vice President and General Manager for the Americas region.

Prior to Iridium, he held business development positions at ORBCOMM and BT Group.
