Texas gets 90-foot tall Hanuman Murti. Learn more
Texas: A 27-meter-high bronze murti of the god Hanuman has been unveiled in Texas. It is the city’s newest landmark and the third tallest sculpture in the United States.
The statue is located in the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple in Sugar Land, Texas.
Also known as the Statue of Union, it is one of the tallest statues in the world. It is the third tallest statue in the United States, surpassed only by the Statue of Liberty in New York (151 feet) and the Pegasus and Dragon in Hallandale Beach, Florida (110 feet), organizers said.
The “Statue of Union”, the Hanuman Murti, was unveiled during a grand Prana Prathishta Mahotsavam ceremony from August 15 to 18.
“This impressive structure is the result of the visionary efforts of His Holiness Sri Chinna Jeeyar Swamiji, a Padma Bhushan awardee and renowned Vedic scholar, who conceived the project as a spiritual epicenter for North America,” the organizer said.
