Ryan Reynolds jokes about Taylor Swift’s ‘unaffordable’ childcare fees
Box office star, billionaire, hit maker. Taylor Swift can lay claim to a whole host of job titles, but none of her official monikers include her most unofficial role: nanny to her best friend Blake Lively’s children.
Ryan Reynolds, Lively’s husband, joked about Swift’s “prohibitive” childcare costs during an E! News interview with Hugh Jackman. When the actor admitted that the 14-time Grammy winner is his family’s “nanny,” Reynolds responded, “The cost of that is…”

“I think the accountant said ‘cost-prohibitive,'” the Ghosted actor continued. “But I think he meant ‘cost-prohibitive-what-are-you-doing-since-I’m-no-longer-your-accountant.'”
Reynolds and Lively, who have been married since 2012, have been close friends with Swift for nearly a decade. The couple were most recently spotted singing along and snapping selfies at the “Anti-Hero” singer’s Eras tour stop in Madrid, Spain, in May.
Lively held her four-year-old daughter Betty while her two eldest children, James and Ines, stood in front of their father. During Swift’s performance of “Betty,” in which she famously uses the names of all three of Reynolds and Lively’s daughters, Lively was seen smiling and pointing to her daughter Inez as Swift sang the lyrics, “You heard the rumors about Inez.”
During her first tour date in Madrid, Swift also mentioned the couple’s daughters. “I have to say that on Folklore, some of my favorite characters are named James, Inez and Betty,” Swift announced to the audience.
This isn’t the first time Swift has expressed her love for her children in her music. The singer-songwriter used James’ voice on her 2017 album “Reputation,” where the then-two-year-old can be heard saying the word “gorgeous” at the beginning of the song “Gorgeous.”
