The best occultists we would like to see added
Highlights
- Occult creatures in “The Sims 4” have unique abilities and needs; for example, mermaids need to ensure they stay hydrated.
- Fairies, shapeshifters, gods and goddesses, and other occult beings would add fun game elements.
- Adding new occult creatures like cyborgs or sirens could add exciting twists and challenges to the game.
Occult creatures in The Sims 4 add a unique element to the game. There are already some occults to play with, such as werewolves, vampires, and wizards. Most occults also have a unique skill tree that usually includes abilities that normal Sims don’t have. Some occult Sims also have other needs, such as mermaids who need to stay hydrated.

Don’t you wish there were instructions for this in real life?
Previous Sims games have featured several different occultists, such as mummies and ghosts. It would be nice to see some of these revamped and improved, and also have some new occultists. Here are a few occultists we’d like to see in The Sims 4.
9 Fairies
- Skills: Flying and improved skills in gardening, mischief and gemology
- Lifespan: Extended
Fairies were present in both The Sims 3 and The Sims 2, and it would be nice to see them make a return. They had pretty basic abilities like magic and a longer lifespan, but there’s a lot more to add, like wings!
It would be a lot of fun to include fairies in an expansion or game pack. There could be different types of fairies, like garden or mischief fairies, each specializing in certain skills and abilities. A fairy world or even fairy decorations and costumes could be so cute.
8 Shapeshifter
- Abilities: Shapeshifting and improved mischief-making skills
- Lifespan: Normal
Shapeshifters would be fun in a supernatural package along with some other creatures from urban legends. They could transform into other Sims or different animals to do things like break into houses and steal things or cause trouble.

Shapeshifter Sims would fit in well with the Strangerville pack, especially paranoid Sims. Shapeshifters appearing as another Sim could cause general unease or even panic in others when the Sim being impersonated shows up. The ability to impersonate other Sims to perhaps ruin relationships or cause them to lose their job could really spice things up.
7 Gods and Goddesses
- Skills: Manipulation of the environment
- Lifespan: Immortal
Adding gods and goddesses could be fascinating. They would certainly have to rule over smaller things like flora and fauna, or even mischief and fire. Sims could make offerings from their gardens or through actions like being nice or mean to their neighbors.
Similar to celebrities, gods and goddesses should have a scale that indicates their power or popularity, and they should gain perks and abilities as they grow stronger. Their reputation could also be important in how they behave around other Sims and whether they are feared or revered.
6 Elves
- Skills: Improved skills in gardening, herbalism and crafting
- Lifespan: Extended
Elves have been a popular request for a while now. Adding them would be a great expansion pack, because what are elves without a majestic elven kingdom? Adding an elven world with some forest lots and some lot challenges like easy living or animal infested areas would be the perfect addition.
Elves would fit in well with the other occultists and represent another nature-related occult genre. Perhaps some new elf-related professions could also be added, such as elf warriors or even carpenters.
5 Zombie
- Skills: Improved skill building in medium
- Lifespan: Immortal
Zombies have previously existed in both Sims 2 and Sims 3, and they seemed more of a nuisance than anything else. But in The Sims 4, there are a few ways to accommodate them. Zombie occultists could either choose to live as a zombie or make it their life goal to become human. They could also have a more ethical food source, much like the vampire Sims can choose to drink blood bags instead.

It would be nice to add another world that is a bit scarier and darker, like the vampire world Forgotten Hollow. It would also give The Sims 4 the chance to finally have a real graveyard.
4 Cyborg
- Skills: Improved skills development in the areas of craftsmanship and programming
- Lifespan: Extended
Cyborgs would be a cool occult addition. They would be half human and half robot and would probably have different or fewer needs that need to be met, like vampires. For example, instead of sleeping, they would need to recharge at a charging station. Cyborgs would also probably have a few quirks, like short circuits in the shower.
There is also the possibility of adding certain building elements for cyborgs, such as a repair station to fix broken limbs or upgrade themselves, similar to how Sims can upgrade the Simray. It would also be a good opportunity for EA to add prosthetics to be more inclusive.
3 Sirens
- Abilities: Transformation into a human after leaving the water and increase of charisma skills
- Lifespan: Extended
Sirens were a missed opportunity when Island Living was added. An evil counterpart to the mermaids would greatly change the island’s environment. Perhaps there is some rivalry between sirens and mermaids and when they meet they develop a negative relationship, similar to werewolves and vampires.
Siren Sims should have more enchanting and seductive qualities to be able to attract Sims. While mermaids can drown Sims after some effort, Sirens should have the ability to drown Sims instantly.
- Abilities: Attacks anyone in sight
- Lifespan: Immortal
Adding a Bigfoot or Yeti cryptid, not to be playable but to harass Sims, would be chaotic and fun. Yetis could haunt Mount Komorebi to attack or sabotage unsuspecting skiers, while Bigfoot could roam Henford on Bagely or even Moonwood Mill trying to get to crops and livestock.
Sims might have preparation items they can use to try to defend themselves and their property against Bigfoot and Yeti, or maybe even have the chance to befriend them by leaving offerings.
1 License fees
- Skills: Improved skill building in the area of charisma
- Lifespan: Normal
While royalty isn’t necessarily into traditional occultism, it would be nice to see some medieval elements in The Sims 4. There was a previous game, Sims Medieval, that was more quest-based than anything else.
The ability to become a member of the royal family, rule over other Sims, or be a member of the royal court as a knight or court jester could add a lot of value to the gameplay of The Sims 4. For the rags-to-riches challenge, some extravagant royal dresses and peasant clothing would also be nice.
