Gigi Hadid’s transparent top and visible bra add a daring touch to “Christian Girl Autumn”
Goodbye, Brat Summer – we’re quickly approaching the Christian Girl Autumn aesthetic again. The fall trend is the opposite of summer’s popular 365 party girl look and focuses on the understated hometown girl next door look. The starter pack includes all the typical fall basics you’d find on Pinterest, like plaid shirts, skinny jeans and riding boots – a recent example is Gigi Hadid.
Although the look is generally considered a relic of millennials, the supermodel and fashion star made it look absolutely chic (and a little daring). Hadid was photographed in the back of a pickup truck wearing a mix of fall basics, expressing her all-American flair.
Wearing a red checked jacket from her Guest in Residence label, the model looked like she had just stepped out of an apple orchard. Hadid paired her flannel jacket with light-wash and ripped baggy jeans, which she tucked into her best Hunter wellies.

Although the rest of her outfit was casual (both figuratively and literally), Hadid added an element of sass. Instead of a simple white T-shirt, she opted for a lace-lined mesh tank top in taupe. The sheer blouse showed off her white bralette underneath—a subtle take on Hollywood’s visible lingerie trend.

Hadid’s personal style often veers between “eclectic skater” (read: plaid, pearl necklaces, and sneakers) and “chic farmgirl” (floral dresses, cozy plaids, and boots)—and this look stayed true to that. Earlier this summer, for example, Hadid styled four anti-trend summer essentials—a baseball cap, girly bikini, charm necklace, and cutoff denim shorts—in one very fashion-forward twist.
Her latest fall look suggests she’s going to embrace a mishmash aesthetic next season, but what’s most important? Hadid proves that even the most unconventional looks can work together if you have the confidence to combine them.
