Dance appointed Bentley’s first sporting director

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley athletic director Vaughn Williams recently announced that Michael Dance is the Falcons’ new athletic director.

“We are very excited to have Coach Dance as our first full-time Director of Athletic Performance,” said Williams. “His knowledge, energy and passion for helping our student-athletes achieve their best will be a great addition to Falcon Country.”

Dance comes to Bentley from fellow Northeast-10 American International, where he served as strength and conditioning coordinator since January 2021. At AIC, Dance implemented and oversaw year-round training programs for all Yellow Jackets athletic teams.

Prior to AIC, Dance was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Quinnipiac, where he worked with the baseball, track and field, cross country, tennis, acrobatics and floor exercise teams. Prior to Quinnipiac, he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Bryant, where he worked primarily with the women’s soccer, volleyball, golf and women’s tennis teams, as well as assisting the football, men’s basketball and men’s lacrosse teams.

Dance also served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at NE10 member Southern Connecticut State, where he worked with the football, women’s lacrosse, field hockey, and swimming and diving teams.

Dance graduated from Worcester State University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Education. He played for the Lancers football team and was selected to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) All-Academic team four times. He earned his Master of Science in Exercise Science from Southern Connecticut University in 2018.
