Every game collaboration confirmed for Secret Level so far

This year’s Gamescom Opening Night Live ceremony was possibly the biggest yet, offering two hours of reveals, updates, and brand new game announcements. While there were plenty of smaller reveals, there were a surprising number of showstoppers at Gamescom this year, and Amazon Prime’s Secret level was one such announcement.

First revealed at yesterday’s Gamescom ONL presentation, Secret level is an Amazon animated anthology show created by Tim Miller’s Blur Studio, the same studio behind Love, death and robots. Secret level will consist of 15 episodes, each of which will cover a different game adaptation. From classic franchises such as Dungeons and Dragons to newer IPs like Unity, Secret level is geared towards adapting licenses from all areas of the gaming industry.

Armored core

FromSoftware’s third-person mech shooter franchise, Armored core will have its own episode in Amazon’s Secret level. Armored core can be seen several times in Secret level‘s reveal trailer, with a titular mech suit racing through a desolate landscape at the beginning of the trailer and a pilot shown at various points in the trailer.

Unity

PlayStation’s latest first-party IP, Unity is a 5v5 hero shooter with a narrative thread. Unity is already set to release weekly cinematics, so it should be fun to see even more of the world via its Secret level Consequence.


Crossfire

A multiplayer tactical shooter that has gained extreme popularity in China and South Korea over the last decade or so. Crossfire appears in Amazon’s Secret level. Interestingly, this is not the first time Crossfire was adapted for television and a Chinese live-action film will be released in July 2020. However, this is less an adaptation of the game itself and more about two men who want to play the game professionally.

Dungeons and Dragons

The grandfather of gaming, Dungeons and Dragons has seen more than its fair share of adaptations over the years, including a critically acclaimed live-action adaptation, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. But D&D is to be another adaptation with its own episode of Secret level.

Exodus

Developed by Archetype Entertainment, Exodus is a sci-fi action-adventure RPG that currently has no release date. Exodus will be a separate episode of Secret level.


Honor of Kings

Another mega hit from China, Honor of Kings is a MOBA published by Tencent that was originally launched in 2015 but was only released worldwide a few months ago. Honor of Kings also appears in Amazon’s Secret level.

Mega Man

One of Capcom’s oldest franchises, Mega Man appeared several times in Secret level‘s announcement trailer. While many of Secret levelThe episodes seem to have a similarly realistic art style, Mega ManThe episode will apparently be a bit more inspired by the anime.

New World: Aeternum

An MMO-RPG from Amazon itself, New World: Aeternum will appear in the animated Prime streaming show.

Pac Man

Pac-Man appears for only a fraction of a second in Secret level‘s reveal trailer and apparently features a fairly realistic art style. While it is relatively easy to predict the general storylines of Secret levelThe same cannot be said for the other episodes. Pac Man Consequence.


PlayStation

Appears at the end of Secret level‘s trailer separately from Unityit seems that PlayStation is getting another episode for its characters. However, instead of focusing on a specific PlayStation IP, this episode of Secret level seems like it will throw a few PlayStation mascots into the same arena with God of War‘s Kratos and Ghost of TsushimaJin Sakai appears in the trailer for the show.

Sifu

A perfect choice for an animated anthology series, the fast-paced beat-em-up of 2021 Sifu will receive a result in Secret levelThe game’s highly stylized art style, John Wick-like action and simple story make it a great choice for Secret level.

Speleology

One of the first successful indie games, Speleology was a 2008 2D platform game in which players control an adventurous spelunker exploring procedurally generated caves. Based on the tiny glimpse fans got in Speleology‘S Secret level Episode looks like another faithful adaptation of the game’s unique art style.


The Outer Worlds 2

A 2019 sci-fi action RPG developed by Obsidian Entertainment. The outer worlds is characterized by excellent world building and a strong sense of humor that leans strongly towards satire, making it a great choice for a short animated adaptation. An interesting detail, however, is that Secret levelThe trailer explicitly stated that this was a partnership with The Outer Worlds 2a sequel that was announced in 2021 and will probably take quite a while to arrive, with Confessors is still expected to come out first.

Unreal Tournament

A classic of the arena shooter genre, Unreal Tournament debuted in 1999, and no new entry has been released for a decade. Nevertheless, its legacy in the video game industry is still quite strong, and it should make for a good installment of Amazon’s Secret level.


Warhammer 40,000

A tabletop war game whose roots go back to 1987. Warhammer 40,000 is an incredibly iconic sci-fi/fantasy franchise that has seen many adaptations in the past, just like Dungeons & DragonsThere is an abundance of Warhammer40K Traditions that Amazon and Blur Studio used as inspiration for their series of Secret levelalthough it seems like the focus will be on the series’ mascots, the Space Marines.
