Alya covers “CHE.RR.Y” for the end of Roshidere episode 8

With episode 8, Alya sometimes hides her feelings in Russian (Roshidere) has once again revealed a new ending video and a new song. As in all previous ones, Sumire Uesaka sings as her character Alya. The new theme song is a cover of “CHE.RR.Y,” which was originally sung by Japanese singer YUI and released in 2007. You can listen to it below.

The anime was voted the most anticipated show of the season and has won four out of seven weekly rankings so far. The anime is based on a light novel written by SunSunSun and illustrated by Momoco. The novel was initially published online as two short stories on the self-publishing website Shosetsuka ni Naro in May 2020. It was later picked up by Kadokawa Shoten’s Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint in 2021.

Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket is publishing Saho Tenamachi’s manga adaptation as a serialized story, which will launch in October 2022. Yen Press has licensed the novel in English.

Official synopsis:
Alya-san, who sits next to Masachika Kuze, always gives him the cold shoulder.
Sometimes, however, she blurts out a few flirtatious words to him in Russian.
Masachika doesn’t miss a single word. This is because Masachika hears Russian at a native level!
Alya-san, who thinks he doesn’t understand and sometimes blurts out loving words. Masachika, who understands what is meant but pretends not to. Where will their love story, which never fails to put a smile on your face, take them?
