After a young girl was indecently assaulted and followed in a busy shopping center, a manhunt is underway for her.

Police were called to the Ocean Keys Shopping Centre in Clarkson, north of Perth, after a man believed to be in his late teens approached the girl while she was shopping on Tuesday.

The perpetrator, who was unknown to the girl, then harassed her

The incident is believed to have occurred on the mall’s main thoroughfare.

“The victim was able to get away from the offender and is believed to have been followed for a short period of time before the offender fled the scene through the shopping centre,” said a spokesman for Western Australia Police.

Police are searching for a man who indecently assaulted a girl at the Ocean Keys Shopping Centre (pictured) and followed her through the complex before fleeing the scene.

Criminal investigators have launched an investigation.

The man was wearing bright red shoes at the time.

There is no further description of the man.
