2.5 Dimensional seduction Episode 7 aired on Friday, August 16th and delves deeper into the familiar face of the new teacher at Ririsa’s school. In episode 5, we learned about Ririsa’s childhood and how her mother scolded her for liking manga. Shame continues to be addressed. 2.5 Dimensional seduction as we delve into Ms. Hanyu’s secret cosplay past.

“We need a consultant!”

Masamune and Ririsa have been using the manga club’s room for cosplay photography. However, the school’s student council has asked that Masamune be expelled from the room because he is not running the club according to school rules. Desperately trying to find an available teacher to advise the manga club so that he can continue using the room, Masamune desperately asks the new teacher, Ms. Hanyu, if she would be willing to help him.

Masamune quickly realizes that Ms. Hanyu is “Mayuri,” an extremely popular cosplayer who is rumored to be retiring from the cosplay business. Mayuri pulls Masamune into an empty room and threatens him not to reveal her big secret. Masamune uses this opportunity to blackmail his teacher into becoming the advisor of the manga club. Soon after, we learn a little about why Mayuri gave up cosplay and became a teacher.

Mayuri is flattered by Ririsa’s admiration, but the praise doesn’t seem to be enough to keep her out of cosplay retirement. The most important scene of 2.5 Dimensional seduction Episode 7 is the phone call between Mayuri and her friend Eri, who is also a cosplayer. Eri asks Mayuri about her decision to retire from cosplay. The new teacher seems torn, but also wants to move on and just live her life in her career and give up cosplaying altogether. Mayuri says to Eri, “Why did I choose a hobby that causes me so much shame?” Although we don’t know the details yet, I wonder if something happened to Mayuri that caused her to be so ashamed of cosplay that she quit.

Since we already know that Ririsa was shamed as a child for her love of manga, I think she and Mayuri can build a relationship together. Hopefully Ririsa can convince Mayuri to return to cosplay, regardless of what others think. 2.5 Dimensional seduction has 17 episodes left, so we’re only at the beginning. Next week, we may learn more details about why Mayuri really quit cosplaying and how she will continue to hide her hobbies and separate them from her career.
