Second Pittsburgh girl dies in three days in bike-car crash

PITTSBURGH, PA — An 11-year-old girl was struck and killed by a car while riding her bicycle in Harrison Township Tuesday night.

According to Allegheny County police, the girl was struck by the vehicle on Kuntz Street around 7:30 p.m. Emergency responders performed life-saving measures on the girl, but she died at the scene.

The Allegheny County Coroner’s Office identified the girl as Roxanne Bonnoni.

The driver remained at the scene. It is unclear whether charges will be filed.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the County Police Tip Hotline at 1-833-ALL-TIPS. Callers may remain anonymous.

Tuesday’s incident is the second in three days in the Pittsburgh area in which a girl has been killed while riding a bicycle. On Sunday, 9-year-old Courtney Carter died after being struck by a car on Rosedale Street near Tacoma Street in the Homewood South neighborhood.
