Del Water Gap is back with a new single “Purple Teeth, The Bravery” and has also released the deluxe edition of I miss you already + I haven’t left yetout August 16 via Mom + Pop Music. The release follows Del Water Gap’s duet with Holly Humberstone, “Cigarettes & Wine,” and coincides with upcoming dates supporting Niall Horan on his UK tour.

“It’s a story about how, when you’ve had enough red wine, you suddenly get very brave, and you spin around in circles and push around and say a lot of crap that you’ve been carrying inside you for a long time and that hurts you. And you sleep off the hangover, and when you wake up in the morning, you can’t really remember what you said, but you look in the mirror and your teeth are still purple from the night before – and that’s exactly how the guilt starts to creep in. The Groundhog Day of pain and burying the hatchet, of repressing it and boiling over again and again,” says the artist.

I Miss You Already + I Haven’t Left Yet was inspired by a note he scribbled in the margin of William Carlos Williams’ book of poetry addressed to his grandmother. The record is full of quietly devastating details like this; episodic and dreamlike, with contributions from Arlo Parks and Clairo and produced by Del Water Gap along with Sammy Witte (Harry Styles, Halsey) and Ethan Gruska (Phoebe Bridgers). The deluxe edition also includes the new song “Midas” and a live recording of “Doll House.”
