The deadline for nominating candidates for the next European Commission ends at the end of August.

With that date fast approaching and Ursula von der Leyen back from her summer vacation in Germany, here are the nominees so far (remember that all of them, except von der Leyen herself, must be confirmed by the European Parliament). At the time of writing, eight countries had not yet made an official choice.
