Boys high school soccer recap: Cougars win opener, Hornets tie

WELCOME – Carson’s boys soccer team opened the season Monday with a 2-1 non-league win at North Davidson.
Herixson Galindo and Anthony Medina Beckham scored the goals for the Cougars.
The templates were provided by Jeffrey Moreno and Joseph Little.
• Elias Vega scored a goal to give the Carson Jayvees a 1-0 victory over the Black Knights.

SALISBURY – Salisbury fought to a scoreless tie against Northwest Cabarrus on Monday.
Finnegan Avery made six saves and secured the Hornets (2-0-1) clean sheet victory.
Salisbury got excellent play from Mohammed Jabateh, Johnathan Barrera and newcomers Lucas Webb, Luke Fowler and Alejandro Mercado Sanchez.
The Hornets’ next game is a county game at East Rowan on Wednesday, kicking off at 6pm.
