Jason Aldean is proud to be the father of a 17-year-old.

The singer of “Dirt Road Anthem” paid tribute to his daughter on her birthday Kendall Williams This week, he took to social media to share how much he adores the teenager as she begins her new school year.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, August 20, Jason – whose real name is Jason Aldine Williams – shared several photos from Kendyl’s life, including some childhood photos and more recent images of the now-grown teenager.

“As parents, we spend our whole youth running around trying to keep up and raise good people,” the 47-year-old father began his emotional post. “One day you wake up and they’re almost grown and you realize you’ve done this father thing pretty well.”

“I can’t believe it’s been 17 years since you were born,” he wrote to Kendyl, telling his girlfriend, “It has been such a joy for all of us to watch you grow up and see the kind of person you are.”

“I am so proud of you and everything you stand for. I love you so much and hope you have the best day. Happy birthday Kendyl! 🎉 🎊 🎈,” reads the post, which also includes a snapshot of Kendyl with her father and his wife. Brittany Aldean36.

“It goes by so fast! Our 18 year old daughter is going to college today,” commented one fan, with another echoing, “Wow, I can’t believe how fast time has gone by.”

Kendyl herself also commented on the post and wrote: “I love you so much dad, you are the best. ❤️”

Kendyl is one of two children Jason has with his first wife. Jessica UsseryThe former couple, who were married from 2001 to 2013, also have a first-born daughter together, Keeley Williams21.

Jason had two more children with Brittany, whom he married in 2015. They welcomed their son Memphis6, in December 2017, followed by her daughter marine5, in February 2019.
