Anyone who has followed the recruitment of players for the Notre Dame football team will have noticed a trend in recent years: The Irish are after the sons of former players.

Well, it looks like that will be the case again if On3’s Mike Singer is right, because on Tuesday night he announced that Notre Dame will sign wide receiver (auto tag) Trent Mosley (/auto tag) in 2026.

The California native is 6’1″ tall, weighs 175 pounds and is the most promising player in the country according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

His father (autotag) Emmett Mosley (/autotag) played for the Irish from 1993 to 1996. His mother Cindy was a star soccer player for Notre Dame who won the Hermann Trophy, the Honda Sports Award and the Honda-Broderick Cup as the country’s best player.

The bloodlines are strong, but the pipeline isn’t necessarily there. Trent’s older brother Emmett signed with Stanford in the 2024 cycle. The younger Mosley will hopefully follow in his parents’ footsteps and be a star in South Bend.
