There has been an important development at the 2024 Opera Cup, with TJP set to face “Filthy” Tom Lawlor in the quarterfinals match at Summer of the Beasts. This change comes after the unfortunate withdrawal of Davey Boy Smith Jr., who was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.

The announcement, made by Saint Laurent along with Tom Lawlor and Davey Boy Smith Jr. earlier this week, revealed that Smith had sustained an injury in training, which resulted in a gap in the quarterfinals. TJP, an international frontrunner, was activated as a tournament alternate, drastically changing the dynamic of the match.

TJP, who made his MLW debut in 2004, brings a unique blend of speed, finesse and a fusion of strong style and Lucha Libre that will challenge Lawlor in ways he didn’t expect. TJP’s history in the Opera Cup is significant, having reached the finals in 2021. This time around, he is determined to outlast and defeat Lawlor and any other opponent that stands in his way on the road to victory.

On the other hand, 2020 Opera Cup winner Tom Lawlor is absolutely focused on claiming his second title. With the devious Saint Laurent by his side, fans can expect “Filthy” Tom and his manager to use any means necessary to secure the win.

The winner of this quarterfinal match will face the winner of the AKIRA vs. KENTA match, with the semifinals scheduled to take place in Atlanta.
