Yesterday’s episode of “The Bachelorette” was a little “crazy”, in some ways positive, but in some ways also very dramatic.

After spending several weeks in Australia and New Zealand, Jenn and the men headed back to the U.S. They landed in Seattle so Jenn could spend special time with the men before deciding who would get a date in their hometown.

It’s been over a month since the first episode of Bachelor Nation featured 25 men declaring they wanted to win Jenn’s heart and hand in marriage. Now, ABC’s hit reality show is down to just four suitors after its sixth episode, and none of the three Florida men from week one are still there.

Here you can find out what you missed last night in the sixth episode of “The Bachelorette”, how many men are left and other exciting announcements in the “The Bachelor” franchise.

Who went home in week 6 of The Bachelorette?

Here are the two men Jenn sent home during the sixth rose ceremony:

  • Grant, 30, a day trader from Houston, Texas
  • Spencer, 30, a pet portrait entrepreneur from Dallas, Texas

Before the rose ceremony began, Jenn spoke with Devin’s rival in the house, Sam M., a 27-year-old contractor from South Carolina. Sam went home before the ceremony even began.

What happened in the last episode of “The Bachelorette”?

Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette began with a reflection from Jenn, who sat down with former Bachelorette Charity Lawson to talk about how difficult it is to choose one of seven men.

This week, Jenn whittled the group of men down to the final four. These final four men will move on to “Hometowns” week, where each of the men takes turns bringing Jenn home to introduce her to her families.

What did the group and individual dates on “The Bachelorette” look like?

This week, the men were in Seattle, Marcus’ hometown. Fittingly, he was the first to snag a one-on-one date with Jenn, which was the second one-on-one date the two have had together.

In honor of Seattle’s nickname “Emerald City” and the “Wicked” movie that hits theaters this Thanksgiving, Marcus and Jenn’s date was all about “Wicked.” Jesse Palmer whisked them away on a green streetcar and took them to a yellow brick road. Jenn’s friends and fan favorites from Joey’s season, Daisy and Kelsey, were waiting for them on the yellow brick road – one in a green dress and the other in a pink dress to pay homage to Galinda and Elphaba.

Their date ended with a surprise appearance by the first-ever Bachelorette, Trista Sutter, who showed the couple a hot air balloon that they used to float over Seattle and “defy gravity” (pun intended).

At their dinner, Marcus opened up to Jenn and told her that he and his sister grew up in foster care after his parents dropped them off at daycare and never picked them up again.

“I had to take on the role of caring for my sister… Families tested us and there were many times when I thought I was going to have a mommy and daddy and my sister and I ended up back in a nursing home,” Marcus Jenn said.

“I think this experience made me feel like there was something wrong with me… I want a love that would stay when anyone else would leave.”

Marcus emerged from the one-on-one with a rose, meaning he is the first man to secure one of the four spots in his hometown week.

The group date was a radio interview, which is pretty unorthodox for a Bachelorette date. Jenn described it as a “who loves Jenn more” competition.

When asked how he felt about Jenn, Sam M. went on a rant about nonsensical, metaphorical talk about reckless love and taking advantage of others.

“I’ve been saying this since I got here: This Sam talks like he’s at the end of his rope, but nothing ever comes out of his mouth,” Devin said into the camera.

“I’m so confused,” Jenn said to the camera. “I feel like his answers don’t make sense to me, and I’m not sure how authentic his answers are. All the other guys in the room are open and honest, and I appreciate that.”

The interview continued off-air without the other men, just Sam and Jenn. And it didn’t go well. When Jenn asked Sam what his first impression of her was and how it changed over time, he didn’t answer directly, but told her that she wasn’t his type and that he originally expected the Bachelorette to be Daisy or Maria.

Devin had a great night at the group date after-party, where Jenn told him she was falling in love with him. For Sam, however, the date went much worse. When Jenn questioned Sam during their one-on-one conversation, he interrupted her and told her he loved her.

“I’m frustrated and confused. Where does this come from?” Jenn said in an interview. “Not being able to justify such a bold statement… I feel like it’s not real to me.”

The second one-on-one date went to Jeremy. They went to the legendary and historic Pike Place Market, home of the very first Starbucks.

Jeremy was really excited about the date and even went behind a flower stand to make her a bouquet. They had their fortunes told by a coin-operated machine and also had their palms read. After a stroll through the market, they stuck gum on Seattle’s gum wall and learned how to catch fish from the market workers.

During their dinner, Jenn told Jeremy that she wanted to address the more serious side of their relationship. They talked about Jeremy’s family history and his Jewish upbringing, which he wants to pass on to his children. She mentioned that she wants to pass on some Buddhist traditions to her children, and they discussed what a mixed-faith family would look like.

“Jeremy makes me feel seen and heard,” Jenn told the camera. “I’m Buddhist and it’s never easy when two different cultures come together. But Jeremy and I talk a lot about faith and religion and when I hear him talk about kids, family and traditions, I’m reassured that we can go deeper and that there’s another side to him.”

Jeremy received a rose, becoming the second man in the episode to win a rose from his hometown.

Drama before the rose ceremony: Jenn sends Sam M. home

Before the rose ceremony, Jenn went to Sam’s room to talk about the mess they made on their group date and the fact that he couldn’t describe what he liked about her, but blurted out that he loved her.

She asked him what it meant to him to love someone, and he said that love “means selflessness, sacrifice, listening to the person in front of you, always giving them appreciation in whatever way that means.”

“You’re saying exactly the right thing, but I just can’t believe you,” Jenn told him. After more back and forth, Jenn sent him home before the rose ceremony had even begun.

“I can’t do this. I can’t sit here with someone who says they love me but doesn’t even really want to get to know me, understand me, see me,” Jenn told him.

“I’ve been through this so many times – teaching people what love means, teaching people how to put me first. I’ve already closed that chapter of my life and I’m done. I’m done with it.”

How do hometowns work on “The Bachelorette”?

We’ve reached the point in the season where the main character travels across the country to visit the families of the final four contestants.

These episodes, called “Hometown Dates,” have become iconic because they’re equal parts heartwarming and chaotic. Think of it this way: Former lead Charity Lawson meets the family of her soon-to-be fiancé Dotun Olubeko when his parents surprised him, and “Pilot Pete” Weber doesn’t even meet contestant Victoria Fuller’s family because they were arguing outside her house.

In the next episode, Jenn will travel to Texas, North Carolina, New York and California.

Season 21 of “The Bachelorette” airs every Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on ABC.

Ellis will be only the second black Bachelor in the reality dating show’s 20-year history. The first was Matt James during season 25 of The Bachelor in 2021.

The episodes have a broadcast time of 90 minutes, 30 minutes longer than the first season of “The Golden Bachelor”.
