Las Vegas teenager whose family was ridiculed for calling 911 to report an alien in the backyard speaks out

A teenager who was ridiculed after his family called 911 to report seeing a 10-foot-tall alien in their yard has spoken out a year later – and is sticking to his story.

Angel Kenmore, 17, claimed he was with his family in the backyard of their Las Vegas home on the night of April 30, 2023, when a bright light crashed to the ground and he saw a “giant creature.”

Other witnesses reported seeing the bright light captured on a police officer’s body camera footage.

The family called 911 and the caller told the operator, “I swear to God, this is not a joke, this is real… we are terrified.”

Several family members confirmed the story to police officers. One of them said on the bodycam footage he saw a “shooting star and now these people are saying there are aliens in their backyard.”

The Kenmore family made their story public last year and Angel revealed that he was able to recognize a tall, very thin creature, between 8 and 10 feet tall.

The Kenmores even made drawings of what they claimed to have seen and showed these bizarre sketches to the media.

The family was relentlessly ridiculed by some for their claims, but their story also brought UFO hunters to their home and forced them to put up “No Trespassing” signs around the property.

Now, nearly a year later, Angel has spoken again, insisting he was telling the truth. He said this week that the apparent encounter with the alien left him “paralysed with fear”.

“It was moving and breathing. It was angry, like it wanted to do something, when it looked at me. I remember it growling,” he told NewsNation this week.

Angel originally said the creature was an alien, but now he believes it was a “demon.”

“I couldn’t move,” he told the outlet, explaining that he looked at the creature for about 30 seconds.

Angel also attacked the family’s critics, saying, “They can think whatever they want.”

“If I was doing it for fame, I’d be on YouTube. I didn’t make any money from it. I don’t need any money. It was a really bad and traumatic experience,” he said.

The Independent has reached out to the American Meteor Society for comment but has not yet received a response.

The organization told NewsNation that the bright light seen that night was certainly a meteor due to the short duration of the event.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department initially investigated the family’s statement but closed the case a few days later.
