Pran Pratishtha ceremony held in USA for the 90-foot tall Hanuman statue

The Indian community in the US inaugurated a 90-foot tall Hanuman statue in Houston, Texas on Sunday, August 18. A grand Pran Prathista ceremony was held at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple to commemorate the magnificent sculpture. The statue, named ‘Statue of Union’ Abhaya Hanuman, is the third tallest statue in the US after the Statue of Liberty and the Pegasus and Dragon Statue.

The news comes just days after a row among Indian-Americans over a float from the Ayodhya temple that was part of the India Day celebrations in New York. However, this news has been received positively as the statue is located within the temple premises which is open to devotees and tourists. Indians are cheering the news on social media and are very proud as the videos and photos of the huge structure have been shared.

The Statue of Union website describes it as a “spiritual epicenter where hearts find solace, minds find peace, and souls find a path to transcendence.” The website also includes a donation link for the statue, which allows donors to receive their own tiles on the Wall of Union, which is located at the same location.
