Boat capsizes on an Illinois lake, young girl found unharmed, grandfather and great-grandfather found dead
- A 7-year-old girl was rescued safe and two men were found dead after the boat they were in capsized in LaSalle Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area in Illinois.

Two Indiana men have died and a seven-year-old girl was rescued unharmed after the boat they were fishing from was found capsized on a lake in eastern Illinois.
Police responded to a 911 call in the LaSalle Lake State Fish and Wildlife area on Sunday, the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said in a news release Monday.
The girl was wearing a life jacket and was found on shore with park visitors. She had been on the 17-foot boat with her 53-year-old grandfather and 80-year-old great-grandfather. Police said the two men were not wearing life jackets.

A coroner pronounced them dead after their bodies were recovered around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday.

The girl’s grandfather was from Merrillville, Indiana, while her great-grandfather lived in Gary, Indiana.
Police were investigating why the boat capsized. The 2,000-acre lake is located near Marseilles, about 84 miles southwest of Chicago.
