Former WWE stars were “widely divided on money issues” during AEW negotiations

Following their AEW debut in April 2024, the current status of the former WWE stars, the Grizzled Young Veterans, has now been revealed.
Zack Gibson and James Drake left WWE after their contracts expired in October 2023, after the pair were denied a release earlier this year.
Grizzled Young Veterans returned to the independent wrestling scene and also appeared in TNA Wrestling and AEW.
They made their debut against The Acclaimed on the April 27, 2024 episode of AEW Collision, as seen below this news item.
Now, courtesy of Sean Ross Sapp in a Fightful Select Q&A, a new update on Gibson & Drake’s future as it relates to AEW has been revealed.
SRS said about Gibson and Drake’s AEW negotiations:
“The gray-haired young veterans are the big ones. I know they were far apart in money.”
No further details have been released regarding the talks between Grizzled Young Vets and AEW.
Gibson spoke about their time in WWE and reflected on their time as part of Schism, saying they were “just stuck in limbo” in a role that they “didn’t think was going anywhere.”
