Bobby Bones considers himself the “greatest champion” in the history of “Dancing with the Stars.”
The 44-year-old DJ took home the Dancing with the Stars crown in 2018, and although Bobby admits he wasn’t the best dancer on the show, he insists he’s still a deserving winner.
Bobby, who danced alongside Sharna Burgess on the show, said in an Instagram video: “I was the worst dancer. I’m proud of that. I tried as hard as anyone in the history of the show, but I can’t dance now, I couldn’t dance then.”
“But do you know who brought down the great evil empire of dance? Well, it’s not evil, and it’s not an empire, it’s you and me! We did it together.”
Bobby admitted that his fans led him to success on the hit television show.
He said, “I am the greatest champion of all time. I didn’t say I was the greatest dancer, I said I was the greatest champion of all time.”
“I am the man of the people. I am the man you have chosen.”
Bobby also noted that his success actually caused the show to change its rules.
He mused: “I’m a terrible dancer, I was a terrible dancer, but they changed the rules after I left because the fan vote was so good.”
Shortly after Julianne Hough questioned his success in 2018, Bobby took to social media.
The 36-year-old star, who did not appear in the show’s 27th season, admitted that she completely disagreed with the decision to crown Bobby the winner of the series.
During an appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” Julianne said, “I think it’s the fandom. This show is all about the fandom. He wasn’t the best dancer.”
