Mike Tyson left a garbage man “convulsing on the ground” for bizarre reason

Mike Tyson once knocked down a garbage man after he accidentally threw away a possession related to one of his beloved pigeons.

Tyson is known for his destructive power in the ring, but he also has a soft side and has famously kept birdcages throughout his life.

Even today, in his fifties, Iron Mike oversees several aviaries where he houses his beloved pigeons, a habit that began in his youth.

And as a child, Tyson was extremely protective of his birds, which has led to some brutal fights in the past.

In his youth, the New York-born star mourned the loss of one of his pigeons, which had died of natural causes.

To honor the bird, he wanted to use the box he kept it in as a stickball bat, a sport he used to play on the streets of Brooklyn.

However, he never got the chance to put his plan into action because a garbage man crushed the box – and that didn’t end well for him.

Tyson said of the incident: “One morning I woke up and found that my favorite pigeon, Julius, had died.

“I was devastated and wanted to use his box as my stickball bat to honor him.

“I left the box on my porch and went inside to get something. When I came back, I saw the garbage man pushing the box into the trash compactor.

“I lunged at him and hit him with a powerful right hand right in the temple. He was unconscious and lying on the ground twitching.”

Whoever the garbage man was, he couldn’t possibly have known that he was throwing away a valuable possession of the future heavyweight champion of the world.

Tyson soon became one of the biggest stars in boxing history and, despite his heavyweight position, was known for his vicious power and shocking speed.

At the age of 20 years, 4 months and 22 days, he became the youngest heavyweight world champion of all time and won his first 19 professional fights by knockout – 12 of them in the first round.
