Actor Ella Purnell knew that Jackie Taylorher character in the hit series Yellow Jacketswould die a terrible death. But she was not prepared for it, How terrible it would be. At FanExpo Chicago, Purnell spoke on a panel hosted by Colliders Steve Weintraub to She does not want to endanger her mental health by watching the episode where Jackie gets “cooked and eaten” by her pals. For those who may not know: Yellow Jackets is a thriller series in which a high school girls’ soccer team goes crazy for Darwin after a plane crash leaves them stranded in a forest.

At the Expo, Purnell answered a fan’s question about Jackie’s death and said she was in the middle of a very demanding filming schedule for Stand out when she wrote scripts for the second season of Yellow Jackets. But because she was so busy, didn’t have time to read the episode where Jackie gets eatenInstead, she learned what was going to happen because her colleagues sent her selfies of themselves posing with Jackie’s “charred corpse.” In her own words:


“Yeah, it was weird! It was funny because I was actually… Look, I knew it was going to happen. I put two and two together. I was shooting Fallout, and the schedule was very, very demanding, and I was exhausted. I got the scripts for season two, but I wasn’t reading them as quickly as I should have. I was busy! I just woke up one morning and had all these pictures of my fellow Yellowjackets taking selfies with my charred corpse. You know when you wake up and you don’t know where you are? That’s what it was like, but on steroids. So, it was a little unsettling.”


“Yellowjackets” will return for another season next year


Purnell admitted that she did not have the courage to actually watch the episode in question“I don’t know what effect it will have on my mental health. I don’t want to take any risks, so I haven’t watched it,” she said. Yellow Jackets was one of the OG hits of the pandemic era, capturing the zeitgeist and drawing comparisons to the classic show Lost. The first season premiered in 2021, the second season in 2023. A third season is in the works and will premiere in 2025. The The show has received positive reviews for its narrative range, the performances of its cast, and its oddly effective ’90s nostalgia.
