5 times Kyrie Irving amazed the fans of the Dallas Mavericks last season:

Kyrie Irving is one of the most talented basketball players of all time. With his precise handling and hard shots, players and fans are often in disbelief at what he can do.

When the Dallas Mavericks signed Irving at the 2023 trade deadline, many analysts thought he wouldn’t be able to work with Luka Doncic. Their assumption was initially confirmed when the Mavs fell out of the playoff race in 2023. When Irving extended his contract with Dallas last summer, no one thought it was a good move until Irving helped take the team to the NBA Finals in 2024.

On the way to the Finals, Irving averaged 25.6 points per game and had moments that amazed Dallas and NBA fans around the world. Here are some of those moments.

This shot was so crazy, it was used as a mural for a basketball court in the Philippines. A left-handed floater from the free throw line that takes down the Nuggets is as unbelievable as it gets.

Irving was in exceptional form in the LA Clippers series, averaging 26.5 points per game. Only Irving could pull off such a shot around three opponents in the decisive period, even if the Mavs ultimately lost that game.

Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs’ rookie sensation, led the NBA in blocks by a wide margin, but he was still no match for Irving on this play. The veteran guard reluctantly lulled him to sleep, then twisted his body as he moved away from the basket for a wild reverse finish.

The Clippers were almost at the end when Irving outran PJ Tucker and got that 4-point chance. Daniel Gafford’s reaction on the bench as he watched that happen will always be legendary.

Irving threw two alley-oops this season, but this one surprised everyone and even told Luka to throw higher next time. Judging by Luka’s reaction, he probably thought someone else was watching the play, but it still ended up being a highlight. This game against Utah was probably the most eventful game of the season.
