Teenager arrested for arson
A teenager was arrested for arson after Fire in an abandoned hotel by the sea.
On the evening of August 8, firefighters were called to a fire on the third floor of the Ocean Hotel in Sandown on the Isle of Wight.
When emergency responders arrived, no one was in the building and no injuries were reported.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police said an 18-year-old man arrested after the fire had been bailed until November 18.
It was the second fire in the hotel within a week, after the fire department had already extinguished flames at this location on August 5.
The hotel’s owners had previously received cleanup orders from the city and the police.
