Two KFC fast food outlets in Illinois close abruptly on Monday morning

ILLINOIS (WMBD) — Two KFC fast-food locations in Illinois were abruptly closed Monday morning, according to former restaurant employees.

Andrew Bush, 18, who has worked at a restaurant for about a year and a half, said he received a call from his district manager at KFC around 9 a.m. Monday informing him of the permanent closure of the Washington, Illinois, location. The restaurant is located at 1106 Peoria Street.

WMBD-TV called the Pekin location Monday afternoon and a former employee said the restaurant is currently closed. The restaurant is located in East Court Village at 3485 Court Street.

The stores will remain closed until there is a new owner for the locations.

Several KFC locations in Illinois are currently owned by EYM Chicken Operations, which owns additional locations in Wisconsin and Indiana.

There are nearly 150 KFC locations in Illinois.
