Motorcyclist dies on Ringstrasse 215 after collision with pickup truck

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nevada (FOX5) – A 17-year-old motorcyclist died when he collided with a pickup truck on Beltway 215, Nevada State Police said.

The accident occurred Thursday on I-215 west of the Aviary Way overpass. This is between Aliante Parkway and Decatur Boulevard.

Police said the motorcyclist, identified by the Clark County Coroner as Isaiah Banuelos, was traveling westbound through traffic at a “high rate of speed” and was weaving between lanes.

Banuelos noticed traffic slowing and braked. According to police, the motorcycle flipped over and the rider was ejected. He struck the right rear of a Dodge Ram.

The impact caused the Ram to spin, but the driver was able to stop in a controlled manner on the left shoulder of the 215 westbound lane.

The driver of the Ram remained on scene and cooperated with officers.

According to police, Banuelos died at the scene.

The investigation is being conducted by the Nevada State Highway Patrol’s Traffic Homicide Unit.
