The Democrats’ new platform has it all: a land recognition, Nick Fuentes and 150 mentions of Donald Trump. The party, currently gathering on the traditional homeland of the Anishinaabe, commonly known as “Chicago,” will vote tonight to officially adopt the new proposals.

The voluminous 92-page document, which was only released to the public this morning, was written before Joe Biden dropped out of the race and therefore mentions the president 287 times, including 19 mentions of a second term for Biden. Kamala Harris, on the other hand, is mentioned only 32 times, and many of those mentions actually refer to the “Biden-Harris administration.”
The document also includes a lengthy ode to the police, a notable change in tone from the platform’s 2020 call to “overhaul the criminal justice system from the ground up.” It also mentions Donald Trump’s meeting with “white supremacist, anti-Semite, and Holocaust denier Nick Fuentes.” Has any Democrat even read it?

The self-described “political accountability collective” has risen to prominence through a series of publicity stunts and videos, targeting targets as diverse as Rishi Sunak, Boris Johnson and David Cameron. Led By Donkeys was founded in 2018 as an anti-Brexit movement but has expanded its oeuvre to include other Tories’ weaknesses. After last week’s Truss stunt, the group claimed it would hold the new government to account and that “Labour is fair game”. There is undoubtedly a lot of material to look forward to…

Several prominent right-wing X accounts are spreading the rumor that Kamala Harris is an alcoholic. Since Donald Trump ally James Blair announced on X that there were “many rumors that Kamala has a serious drinking problem,” the platform has been inundated with clips of the vice president with captions suggesting that she is obviously drunk and that her alleged alcoholism is an open secret in Washington circles. It remains entirely unclear which high-ranking Democrats are passing on this valuable information to right-wing X accounts.
This is an extremely serious matter. Someone with a full-blown drinking problem has the chance to become president of the most powerful country in the world.

The eagerly circulated accusation may be the right’s answer to the unfounded rumors circulating about JD Vance on the couch. However, it’s unlikely to make much of a splash outside the conservative echo chamber, as it’s neither offensive nor particularly unusual. Some of America’s most popular presidents have been notorious drunks. Could this solve their relationship problem?
