Far East Hospitality receives GSTC certification for all 16 hotels in Singapore

‌Far East Hospitality (FEH), Singapore’s homegrown hospitality management company with an international presence, has announced that all 16 of its hotels in the country have met the industry criteria for the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) hotel certification.

With this accreditation, FEH is now the hotel group with the largest number of GSTC-certified locations in Singapore.

Village Hotel Sentosa is one of Far East Hospitality’s 16 properties to receive GSTC certification.

This certification, recognized globally as a benchmark in sustainability, underlines FEH’s commitment to environmental protection and is in line with its mission to maintain the highest standards in sustainable hospitality.

FEH has diligently pursued sustainability initiatives and achieved this certification ahead of the 2025 target set by the Singapore Hotel Association and the Singapore Tourism Board.

This process includes annual tracking and monitoring of energy, water, waste and carbon emissions data, which feed into Far East Hospitality Trust and Far East Orchard’s annual sustainability reports.

Far East Hospitality has also developed the Far More Sustainable framework, which includes initiatives to raise awareness of sustainability in all areas of the hotel. These initiatives include actively encouraging guests to reuse towels and linens, introducing a carbon offset platform, eliminating single-use plastic water bottles and switching to large dispensers for toiletries.

FEH also works with suppliers and local communities to support beneficiary children/youth and local businesses.

Arthur Kiong, CEO of Far East Hospitality, said: “GSTC certification is a significant milestone for our company. It underlines our commitment to sustainability and demonstrates to our guests and customers that we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of environmental protection and positive social impact. This certification is a testament to our current practices and a promise to continue on our path to a more sustainable future.”
