20-year-old TV star is “still seriously injured” months after falling from five floors
Mamie Laverock has returned home from hospital months after her horror fall – but is still “seriously injured”.
In May, the 20-year-old, best known for her role in the Hallmark series “When Calls the Heart,” was put on life support after falling “five stories” from a sidewalk.
Her body was “shattered” by the ordeal and she was surrounded by her family as she underwent extensive surgery and “intensive treatment.”
In a new post on her public Facebook page, her relatives confirmed that she was back home – they had also prepared signs, a cake and balloons for her arrival.
Alongside snapshots of the warm homecoming presentation, they wrote: “Dreams come true. Welcome home, Mamie.”
In a response to a fan, the account’s owners shared another update, adding: “She is still seriously injured, but we will take care of her privately.”
“She needed to be home. I’m so happy for her. She made it this far… Next chapter. It’s a blessing to have her home.”
Her followers were thrilled with Mamie’s latest update and cheered enthusiastically in the comments below.
Monique Mullin replied, “I’m so glad to see this today!!! I’m so glad you’re home, Mamie.”
Desiree Nelson wrote: “This is so incredible! Keep being the miracle and sunshine that you are, Mamie!”
Diana Marquez said: “This is wonderful! Keep getting well, sweetie!”
Louis Scott Cox commented: “I’m sure I’ll see your face on my screen one day as you work on your next production.”
“Congratulations, a new branch of life lies before you.”
Mamie has become a staple on the Hallmark channel in recent years thanks to her role as Rosaleen Sullivan in the first two seasons of When Calls The Heart, which first aired on the network in 2014.
She returned to the role in season 10, which aired last year.
She has also appeared in a number of other projects, including “This Means Trouble” – with Reese Witherspoon, Tom Hardy and Chris Pine – and “A Series of Unfortunate Events”.
The star was initially admitted to hospital with a medical emergency in May, with her mother Nicole at her side.
However, while receiving treatment in Vancouver on Sunday, the teenager was “escorted from a security unit” and taken to a balcony walkway where she “fell five stories.”
Her family set up a GoFundMe page and said she suffered “life-threatening injuries” during the ordeal.
At the time, it said: “We are deeply saddened to report that Mamie, who had been in intensive care for the past two weeks, was escorted from the hospital’s security area on May 26 and taken to a balcony from which she fell five stories.”
“She has suffered life-threatening injuries, has undergone numerous extensive operations and is currently on a ventilator.
“We are all devastated and in shock at this extremely difficult time.”
