19-year-old man dies after air conditioner falls from 3rd floor in Karol Bagh
A 19-year-old man lost his life and his 17-year-old friend was injured when the outdoor unit of an air conditioner fell from the third floor of a building in Delhi’s Karol Bagh area on Saturday evening.
The incident took place at around 7 pm in Doriwalan area. Officials said the deceased Jitesh was sitting on a scooter and was chatting with his friend Pranshu when the AC fell on them. The injuries sustained in the accident turned out to be very serious for both of them.
A CCTV video of the incident went viral on social media and shows the exact moment the AC fell on the two friends. The impact was so strong that Jitesh died on the spot while Pranshu was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Pranshu is still undergoing treatment and has not been able to give his statement yet.

Police investigate AC case in Karol Bagh
The police arrived at Desh Bandhu Road police station and recorded the accident report. On reaching the hospital, they found that Jitesh had been declared dead and Pranshu had been admitted for his injuries. An FIR was filed under Section 125 for endangering life or safety and under Section 106 for causing death by negligence under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
A forensic team was called in to determine why the air conditioner had fallen. Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to the fall and will do everything possible to bring all those responsible for the accident to justice.
