The Blues and Hampstead lacrosse clubs have announced their groups and schedules ahead of the 2024 Ken Galluccio Cup.

The reigning women’s champions Blues, who won both the 2022 and 2023 editions of the annual competition, have been drawn in Group A alongside Oslo of Norway, Wettingen Wild of Switzerland and Madrid Osos of Spain.

Hampstead, who finished third in 2023 and won the cup in 2019, will face Oslo Saints (Norway), Amsterdam Lions (Netherlands), Olsen Saints (Switzerland), Madrid Osos (Spain), Milano Painkillers (Italy) and Hamburg (Germany) in a round-robin tournament followed by a knockout round.

The 2024 Ken Galluccio Cup will take place from September 6-8 and will be the last to be played at the Camps Municipals La Teixonera-Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, Spain, before the competition moves to its new home at the LCC Radotin in Prague, Czech Republic, for the 2025, 2026 and 2027 tournaments.

The tournament was originally called the Champions Cup and was renamed the Ken Galluccio Cup in honor of its creator after his death in 2009. It is the largest European lacrosse tournament, with teams from all over Europe participating.

English teams have traditionally performed well at the tournament, winning nine of the last 13 men’s titles and six of the last ten women’s titles.
